THE HUMPING PACT
The Humping Pact is een project waarbij (op het oog) meerdere mannen verschillende gebouwen (of bergen of andere objecten) ter wereld bespringen, beneuken, te grazen nemen, ertegen swaffelen of ertegen op rijden. In hun blootje. Hoe ze het zelf noemen: ‘We travel around the world to find the locations that used to have or still have a lot of unrealized potential. We then bring our two bodies in relation to each sensitive spot on those beautiful artifacts of human persistence and attempt to release their potential through a mix of affective physicality and contemporary technology. The choice of humping in this case is dictated by the need of persistent meditation on transcending the futility of dedicated simulation. In other words, the energy is channeled from the space, through our bodies, into the screen only if we suspend the pre-climax condition that never realizes itself in the orgasm.’ Een hoop interessant geneuzel, waar ik weinig mee kan, maar wat zien de filmpjes en plaatjes er mooi uit! The Humping Pact verandert een doorgaans saaie plek in iets heel bijzonders. Het ziet er vreemd uit, maar voelt op de een of andere manier ook weer natuurlijk aan. Op de video’s en foto’s lijkt het alsof er tientallen mannen meedoen aan het project, maar in werkelijkheid zijn het er slechts 2: Dmitry Paranyushkin en Diego Agullo. Ze monteren de foto’s en filmpjes dusdanig dat het lijkt alsof er honderd mannen de liefde bedrijven met een stuk steen of metaal.
